TimeRegister Early! Space is limited and participation is based on a first-come, first-served basis only, so don’t delay. All registration materials are due by May 30 .

Fees:
Fees for participation in the Early Start Freshman Summer Experience Program include: (1) tuition and general fee charges based on the number of credit hours for which you register, (2) and residence and dining fees if you live on campus.

Residence and dining fees are due by May 30 to secure your space. Individual fees for each housing and dining option are described on the Residence and Dining Form. However, you will receive second session housing for free if you purchase a first session housing contract and a 14 or 20 meal plan both sessions! To receive the discount, you must register for 3 credit hours or more during 2nd session.

Living with a roommate is an important part of college life for first year students and the experience often leads to lifelong friendships. Residence and dining fees may be paid with check or credit card. However, if you wish to pay by credit card, you must make payment for that by accessing CASHNet Smartpay, a third party payment processor at www.cashnetsmartpay.com/OHIO.

You will receive confirmation of your participation in the program, along with more specific program information, optional programming seminars, extra curricular events, and roommate details during the week of June 2.

You will register for both 1st and 2nd session classes during the Friday orientation session on June 20. This orientation session is mandatory.

Bills are no longer mailed to Ohio University students and parents. Bills are emailed to students' OAK accounts and will be due upon receipt. Again, these charges may be paid by credit card by accessing www.cashnetsmartpay.com/OHIO. You may also pay by check. Make check payable to Ohio University (please include your PID) and mail to:

Financial Aid:
You and your parents may be eligible to receive financial aid, in the form of loans or grants, to cover some of the tuition and residence expenses of the Early Start Freshman Summer Experience. If you are a recipient of PELL grant funds, some of this money may be applied to your student account in the Bursar’s Office to help cover tuition. Parent loan funds may also be used to cover expenses associated with this program. If you have questions about the use of financial aid funds or your eligibility for them, please call the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships at (740) 593-4141 and ask to speak to your financial aid counselor.

Grades:
After the Early Start Freshman Summer Experience Program is over, your grades and the number of credit hours earned will be recorded on your permanent Ohio University academic record and will be listed on any official transcript you request from the university. This course credit will be applied toward an undergraduate degree you may eventually earn from Ohio University or another university.

Grades will be posted to your academic record during the week following the end of the session(s) you attend during the summer.
