A search to fill the Honors Tutorial College dean position was suspended in December to allow time for discussions about academic realignment and restructuring. As a result of those conversations, Executive Vice President and Provost Kathy Krendl decided to move forward with an internal search for an Honors Tutorial College dean.

Harold Molineu is serving as interim dean of Honors Tutorial College this academic year. He replaced former Dean Ann Fidler, who is serving a one-year appointment as interim associate provost for strategic initiatives.

The Honors Tutorial College is a unique academic unit with a scholarly program modeled after the tutorial method used at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge. It is the nation's only degree-granting college incorporating all of the essential features of the traditional tutorial system.

"The Honors College is a special college that is critical to Ohio University's undergraduate teaching and research mission. I would really like to encourage individuals to think about applying for this position," Burnier said.

The dean provides strategic leadership for the college and is a member of the university's executive leadership team. Responsibilities include developing and implementing college policies, determining application procedures, overseeing admissions decisions, monitoring student progress, and developing and reviewing tutorial programs and initiatives that affect students across the university.
