Kennedy Museum of Art will host the exhibition "Photographic Images: A Local to Global Perspective on Critical Issues Affecting Our Planet and its People," in association with the Going Global: Education in the21st Century Summer Research Conference and Workshops, organized by the Ohio Department of Education and Ohio University.
The photo exhibition, organized by the Global Issues Resource Center at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, features images of conflict zones where peace building initiatives are being developed and supported by the Center. The exhibit will be on view at Kennedy Museum of Art from July 22 through Dec. 22.
Kennedy Museum of Art was opened in 1996 and is now an academic support unit of Ohio University in the College of Fine Arts. The museum, which is open year-round, showcases its collections and the work of artists from around the globe through changing exhibitions and educational programming. Kennedy Museum of Art houses the Edwin L. and Ruth E. Kennedy Southwest Native American Collection of jewelry and weavings, a renowned contemporary print collection, and an eclectic mix of smaller collections including paintings, sculpture and African masks and artifacts.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 p.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday from 10 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on holidays. Admission is free and parking is free and metered. Please call 740-593-1304 or go to www.ohio.edu/museum for more information.
